hi all. what do you all think if zone have a board for mantal health? on that board we can post articles or discussion about mantal health and some imspiration articles about it?

Post 2 by Blue Velvet (I've got the platinum golden silver bronze poster award.) on Wednesday, 26-Oct-2005 7:51:38

And the first topic on that board could be spelling mental health correctly?

Post 3 by season (the invisible soul) on Wednesday, 26-Oct-2005 8:27:48

sorry for the mistake.

Post 4 by Blue Velvet (I've got the platinum golden silver bronze poster award.) on Wednesday, 26-Oct-2005 8:57:27

That was incredibly mean of me. Sorry Season.

Post 5 by Belinda (Veteran Zoner) on Wednesday, 26-Oct-2005 9:29:10

I think itwould be a good idea

Post 6 by Ukulele<3 (Try me... You know you want to.) on Wednesday, 26-Oct-2005 10:15:41

It was really really mean, cat lover!!!

Post 7 by Blue Velvet (I've got the platinum golden silver bronze poster award.) on Wednesday, 26-Oct-2005 10:39:17

I believe incredibly mean and really, really mean are about the same, and I did apologize. So get over it Michelle.

Um, Gees! I was being sarcastic! Get over yourself!

Post 9 by Goblin (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Wednesday, 26-Oct-2005 12:43:56

I'm in favour of it. However, the childish cretins who see fit to hijack every post with insults, would have a field day with such a board, ruining it for those with something intelligent to say.

Post 10 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Wednesday, 26-Oct-2005 13:47:52

I agree with goblen. I'd love that board but posts (see above) pointless like that would ruin it.

Post 11 by maddog (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Wednesday, 26-Oct-2005 13:51:17

hmmm, I could create it I guess, but I mean, we have the health and wellness board. Why don't you guys stop insulting each other, and give us more feedback as to why we should create this board? I want to hear from a few more users.

Post 12 by season (the invisible soul) on Wednesday, 26-Oct-2005 14:09:48

yep. md is right. and guys cat lover not do it by purporse. she had personally appologise with me. so, forget about it okay? this is a little suggestion and need some feet back from all of us, and not to fight over things. i did think about it that posting on Health and Wellness board, or maybe we can make a subtopic for this board. just like relagion topic, but under Safe Haven.

With Season I cast my vote. Health and Wellness as much as it can easily encompass the entire body…and mind included, I think this additional Board of Mental Health would be directed towards the health and wellness of the mind in particular whereas the Health and Wellness as it currently stands would be more so directed towards the body in particular. Also I like what Season spoke forth originally in her First Post in that inspirational topics giving uplift along thes lines o mental health would be welcomed and would be apart of this newly created board. Good idea Season! As Life Flows on, Connie

Personally I think it's a bad idea. We currently have a health and wellness board and there are hardly ever any posts relating to mental health. I think if you create a mental health board it'll just get lost amongst the other boards and no one will post to it.

Post 15 by Ukulele<3 (Try me... You know you want to.) on Wednesday, 26-Oct-2005 18:47:53

I agree with Clare!!! What's the point of the mental health board when we've got health and wellness already! And no offense but who would want to post about their mental health problems? If I had any, I wouldn't be so quick to post about them. I'd just talk to my zone friends about it personally if they were interested. lol But that's just me!! And what would anyone say on a mental health board anyway? Something like who's got a mental health problem? I just don't think that's a good idea at all!

*sexy*

nope. the mental health board, not only for discussion, but yet, it can be more to posting articles, and imspirations stuff. just like what connie said. but of course, at the same time, it can be a time for sharing and strengthen one another in that way as well. as i said, just a little suggestion on it, and of course it can combine with the health and wellness board.

Post 17 by maddog (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Thursday, 27-Oct-2005 11:37:20

hmmm, this is a tough call. I might talk to the others, and see what they think about it. In the meantime, keep posting. I want to hear from more users.

Post 18 by Goblin (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Thursday, 27-Oct-2005 12:10:11

In spite of what I said earlier. I still think this should go ahead, in defiance of the cretins, so the sooner this board is up and running, the better.

Post 19 by Grace (I've now got the ggold prolific poster award! wahoo! well done to me!) on Thursday, 27-Oct-2005 12:32:49

The Mental Health Board could also encompass the areas of dealing with death and dying whether of persons close to us or even say our pets/guide dogs or even that of ourselves and learning to cope when the doctor gives the verdict that one close has say cancer, (the medical aspects of say cancer would be discussed in Health and Wellness but the MENTALLY/EMOTIONALLY coping skills would be provided under the Mental Health Board), of when tragedy strikes, whether floods or hurricanes and whether we personally are in these devastating situations or know someone who is or just plain all the news that bombards us in the news, this would provide an outlet for sharing in meaningful conversation away from the day to day talk as it were in the Let's Talk Board. It would be more personal and more a comfort/hope support. I think the main point is that this Mental Health board would NOT be a rant/bashing board or else purpose defeated. The Mental Health Board would be where anger issues are addressed as well as loneliness (away from the singles scene), where any and all emotions could be expressed as a person goes thorough and is in the midst of trying circumstances. Also the inspirational articles/discussions that provides for how to establish as well as the continuing good mental health would be welcomed and appreciated.

I agree, but I have one problem. How would we keep stupid people who like to jump on someone for a question from hurting someone on this boards?

Post 21 by season (the invisible soul) on Saturday, 29-Oct-2005 23:55:36

good suggestion Connie. the objective for this board not only for mental health, as i said earlier on, the board can mainly for inspiration articles, and something which can encourage others. Health & Wellness is physical medical board, this will be the board for our inward health. . that doesn't mean that the person have psycho problems. just a he / she might facing some emotional problems.

Post 22 by Belinda (Veteran Zoner) on Tuesday, 01-Nov-2005 2:43:15

I think it would be a great idea...i think peiople would post in it if it was there

on the other hand..i dont think id post about mental health problems here.. lol no offense

Post 23 by bgdawg0385 (Generic Zoner) on Tuesday, 01-Nov-2005 12:51:44

I am totally against that.. Mental health falls under the category of "health and wellness." Make a thread on that board if it is that important to you. But a side note here, if you come on the zone for inspiration, you might really need to see a psychiatrist.

Post 24 by Goblin (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Wednesday, 02-Nov-2005 10:42:20

What a bigoted attitude.

Post 25 by maddog (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Thursday, 03-Nov-2005 17:33:43

hmmm, the majority of the posters here seem to be all for this. I don't know, I'll talk to a few other CLs, and maybe one or both of the admins, and see what to do.
